Many trucks and SUVs come with dark rear glass from the factory. While it looks tinted, factory privacy glass is not window film.
Factory glass is simply dyed during manufacturing. It provides privacy but offers little to no heat or UV rejection.
Aftermarket window film is applied to the interior surface and is designed specifically to:
- Block infrared heat
- Block UV rays
- Improve safety
- Enhance comfort
Adding ceramic window tint over factory privacy glass is the only way to achieve real performance.
